Ceremonial Events & Unity Gatherings
Harvest Women's Weekend - November 2026
In-Person: We invite you to join us for a women’s weekend of ceremony, connection, and renewal on the land with Nan Heddi Gonzalez-Neale at Deer Mountain Sanctuary north of Mt Shasta, CA.
This time together offers space to step away from the pace of daily life and return to the rhythms of nature, community, and self. As women, we gather to support one another, share from the heart, and be held by Mother Earth and each other so that we can source ourselves and return renewed as pillars of our homes and communities.
Over the course of the weekend, we will:
Gather in circle and shared meals
Connect to the sacred fire
Offer prayers with water and the land
Rest, reflect, and connect in sisterhood
Time at the creek, moments of quiet, and simple acts of preparing food together are all part of the medicine of the weekend — weaving relationship with one another and with the natural world.
Participants will arrive Friday afternoon to settle into camp and begin our time together in circle. Early Saturday morning we will travel to the ceremonial grounds to prepare the fire, followed by the purification ceremony and time for rest and integration. On Sunday, we will gather at sunrise for prayer and offerings, and close our time together in a spirit of gratitude and connection.

The People Made of Honey - December 2026
The People Made of Honey
A Weekend Gathering with Mayan Wisdom Keeper Tat Erick Gonzalez
Portland, Oregon · December 11-13, 2026
The Power of Ceremony, the documentary featuring Tat Erick Gonzalez alongside some of the most respected indigenous elders of our time, captured something that remains as true now as when it was filmed: the wisdom traditions of the Earth are not relics of the past, but living medicines for exactly the moment we are living through. Of the wisdom keepers featured in that film, only two remain with us. Tat Erick is one of them. He is coming to Portland.
Come for one evening, or for the whole weekend. Each gathering stands on its own and opens into the next.
Friday, December 11th - Junlajuj (11) Akabal
Evening Talk
Junlajuj (11) Akabal - the energy of letting go and changing states of consciousness meeting the threshold of the new dawn. A fitting night to ask the questions this moment is pressing on all of us.
What do we have in our basket? What wisdom, what medicine, what ways of being have we been tending that are ready to sustain us through the shift of the ages - and what do we still need to gather?
Tat Erick will speak to the importance of sanctuary in its many forms: the land sanctuaries like Deer Mountain and Patziapa where the fires have been burning for decades, the digital sanctuary where community gathers across distance, and the inner sanctuary each of us can cultivate so that we become a place of refuge for others, especially in the cities where so many are searching for ground.
He will speak about the People Made of Honey - those who through dedicated ceremonial life, prayer, and service have distilled their experience into something golden that nourishes and illuminates those around them. And what it takes, in this time, to become one of them.
Open to all. Larger venue. No prior experience with these teachings needed.
Saturday, December 12th - Kablajuj (12) Kat
Council Fire
Kablajuj (12) Kat - the stability and perseverance of the sacred net, the web of life that holds all things in relationship.
We gather around a wood fire in a smaller, more intimate circle to go deeper. Tat Erick will teach and share from the fire, and participants will have the opportunity to make offerings and sit with what arises in that particular quality of attention that only comes when people slow down, draw close to the flames, and listen together.
This is the kind of gathering that has always been at the heart of how wisdom is transmitted — an elder by the fire, a circle of people willing to receive and respond. Come ready to be present. Bring something to offer if you feel called. Space is limited.
Sunday, December 13th - Oxlajuj (13) Kan
Closing Breakfast
Oxlajuj (13) Kan - the full crystallization of the medicine, the complete empowerment of what has been received.
We close the weekend over a shared meal - a chance to sit with what the weekend has opened before carrying it back into daily life.

Annual Earth Wisdom Gathering
This year, two sacred cycles align.
Our annual Earth Wisdom Gathering is held on the days surrounding the summer solstice when the sun reaches its highest point and the Earth is filled with light. This year, it coincides with Waqxaqui (8) B’atz — the sacred day that serves as the ceremonial heartbeat of Earth Peoples United, returning every 260 days, which next happens on June 22, 2026.
For our community, 8 B’atz is a time of renewal, gratitude, and remembering our spiritual path. It is when we gather around the Mayan Fire to give thanks for the cycle that has passed and to begin the next one with clarity and intention.
When these two sacred cycles align — the solar cycle of the Earth and the sacred calendar of the Maya — it becomes a powerful moment to come together in ceremony, prayer, and community.
Join us for a ceremonial, land-based gathering at Deer Mountain Sanctuary, where we will spend several days living in rhythm with the land — tending the sacred fire, sharing teachings, and strengthening the bonds that hold our community together.

The Pop Jay Codex (3 Part Teaching Series)
The Pop Jay Codex
Ancient Wisdom for Rebuilding Sacred Community
“Geometry creates the frequency of our thoughts, and that frequency shapes the human world we experience.”
- Tat Erick Gonzalez
3-Part Online Teaching Series hosted in the EPU Hive
Saturdays • May 2, May 9, May 16
9:00 – 11:00 AM Pacific
As Earth Peoples United prepares to rebuild the Pop Jay Council House at Deer Mountain Sanctuary, we are called to deepen our understanding of the ancient wisdom that gave rise to this sacred structure.
The Pop Jay is not simply a ceremonial arbor — it is a three-dimensional living codex, carrying teachings about sacred geometry, human consciousness, and the organization of harmonious societies. Its design reflects an ancient system of governance and relationship known as the Kalpul, which organized communities through shared responsibility, service, and balance.
In this special three-part teaching series, Mayan Spiritual Guide Tat Erick Gonzalez will share the deeper meaning behind the Pop Jay’s design and the ancient principles it embodies. These teachings offer guidance for how humanity can restore balance with one another and with the Earth during this time of great transition.
Class 1: The Pop Jay Codex & Sacred Governance
Explore the ancient Cosmic Cross codex and the Kalpul system of community organization. Learn how traditional societies structured leadership through service, responsibility, and mutual accountability.
Class 2: Sacred Geometry and the Architecture of Consciousness
Discover the geometry embedded in the Pop Jay structure and how sacred forms influence human thought, intention, and collective behavior.
Class 3: Activating the Prophecy: Unity and the Future of Human Community
Explore the prophecy of unity among the peoples of the four directions and how the principles of the Pop Jay can guide the creation of balanced and cooperative communities today.
