Gratitude Gathering for the Free-Flowing Klamath River at Deer Mountain Sanctuary
Add Your Offering to the Healing of the Klamath River Ecosystem!
Earth Peoples United is hosting a special gathering over Memorial Day Weekend (May 24 - 27) at the Deer Mountain Sanctuary, alongside the Free-Flowing Klamath River. This event will bring together Wisdom Keepers from different traditions with many others to offer ceremonies, medicines, songs, and dances for the healing of the Klamath River Ecosystem. We invite you to bring your offering for the healing of the river by either attending or contributing in some way to this gathering.
The removal of the Copco Dam on the Klamath River offers a historic chance to correct past injustices, restore native fish populations, and strengthen the understanding of the relationship between fish and Indigenous communities. By enabling salmon and trout to access crucial spawning and rearing grounds in the headwaters, we can help preserve these ecologically and culturally significant species. We invite you to add your prayers for the revitalization of Indigenous homelands and traditional ways of life.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact on the future of the Klamath River and all the beings that depend on it. Join us in honoring this vital ecosystem and celebrating the unity between nature and humanity!

Food of the Gods -- IxCacao, the Spiritual Food of our Soul. Mayan oral tradition and wisdom for today’s age.
Mayan Spiritual Guide, Tat Erick Gonzalez, will share this oral traditional teaching of how cacao has been one of the most sacred plants for the Maya for thousands of years, why it is revered, and how it is used. Its scientific name Theobroma cacao is fitting, as Theo “of Gods” and broma “food” in Greek means “food of the gods.”
Representing the breast of the Goddess of the Tree of Life, the cacao pod has a distinct shape, form, and symbolism that will be explained. This sacrament has an incredible amount of power, and it is a beautiful medicine with the consciousness to help heal us, reconnect us, make us whole, and unify us. Its essence is held in what is created when two circles come together, heart to heart. The feminine energy of IxCacao is very receptive and helps us connect to our heart and the earth.
This oral teaching will include a special share from Tat Erick’s daughter Maya Gonzalez who has been on the journey that many humans are on to find out what makes sense in this world and what they can do, leading her to volunteer at an organic cacao farm in Hawaii where she lives. Her connection and relationship with the IxCacao has been a tremendous blessing in her life.
The desire with this teaching is for each of us to learn and activate our own curiosity, so that we can each create a relationship with the IxCacao as a Goddess and find the gift she gives to us.

The Seven Houses of Enlightenment -- Mayan wisdom on the Journey to Activate our Light Body
Join us in this oral traditional teaching with Tat Erick Gonzalez, Mayan Spiritual Elder and Guide, as he takes us through the journey of the Seven Houses of Enlightenment. He will share Mayan ancestral wisdom to nourish our process through the immeasurable challenges we face as humans in these teachings on The Ajpus.
The heroes of the Popul Vuh Mayan Creation Story became the Lords of the Light by evolving in their process of discovering their true purpose through all they endured, beyond the limits of what they had been told.. They expanded to reach their full potential through the hardships of the great tests they overcame.
These teachings are encoded with keys of wisdom to navigate as we find the purpose of our life. They offer tools and action steps for us to consider on a quest to honor this gift of life and all we came to be. They invite us to ask why we are awake and incarnated at this time, and what are the codes within our own humanity to have a joyous, fulfilled life?
We seek to find a better sense of spiritual Oneness in this oral tradition, exploring what it takes to release veils of indoctrination needed to once again be in harmony with the natural and spiritual worlds, our own true nature and purpose. These teachings support us in our quest to reveal the steps of becoming the People Made of Honey in this New Era: luminous, fluid and clear in our gifts, our connection to each other and our collective potential.
This teaching is a continuation of the wisdom shared in The Quest to Find our Truth in Times of Challenge- Mayan wisdom as we journey into the underworld and the Shift of the Ages, completing the journey from the dark into the light being. We will also be exploring the significance of the number seven, the vibration of wuku in the story, what it means for the Maya, and for many spiritual traditions throughout the world.

The Quest to Find our Truth in Times of Challenge- Mayan wisdom as we journey into the underworld and the Shift of the Ages
Taught by Mayan Spiritual Guide Tat Erick Gonzalez, this oral tradition videoconference teaching of archetypal and universal stories from the Popul Vuh (Mayan Creation Story) offers wisdom to recognize the systems used by our ego and the modern world to give up in our efforts to transform and liberate ourselves. Tat Erick will share about the different “houses” of the underworld, helping us identify the challenges at this time and how to transform them into taking action towards crystallizing what we want for the New Era that began on December 21, 2012.

Waqxaqui B’atz Mayan Spiritual Renewal & Weaving Retreat
A time when we gather at Deer Mountain Sanctuary to honor the Mayan ceremonial days of Waqxaqui B’atz, a time of Spiritual Renewal, when we make offerings of beauty here in the north in synchronicity with the countless altars set and ceremonial fires burning in the Mayan world.
Over these sacred days, offerings are made for all life that has come through the matrix, making all of the living world. Consciously connecting again to our own place in the Universe that we are a part of, reclaiming our appreciation for the bundle of threads we have to weave with in the well of our own being. Taking time to vision the path to crystalizing our visions through the weavings of our every thought, intention and action. Through intention and ritual, we gather the threads of energy that flow from our center and connect us to our past and future generations – to our own infinite potential. And it is also a time when initiations and levels of spiritual training are marked in time through ceremony.
Join us this August when we will circle, feast, pray and create together. Sharing wisdom from the elders and connecting to each other and the elements in the nourishing embracing arms of the Siskiyou Mountains at the Deer Mountain Sanctuary.

For years Juan Villarreal and Rick Berry have talked about an Art in Nature program, and it's finally happening! The week will include Nature Observation time, as the cornerstone of awareness and the doorway to the spirit world. Art? Yes! We will have activities for all age groups to engage every member of the family.
Our Wilderness Survival Quest for Teens (ages 14-17) runs alongside this Art in Nature Family Camp. This Quest is designed to challenge teens skills and mental well-being while wandering out in the remote backcountry with minimal gear. The Survival Quest is one way to discover who you are at the core. We require teens to apply for the program and they must have some experience with Earth Skills. Teens will begin at the same site as the Family Camp, having meals together and prepping for the Quest. Depending on the group, there will be up to 3 nights out in the bush, with minimal gear. There will be a ceremonial send off for the group from family camp and upon the return to main camp.
