Mayan Spiritual Guide, Tat Erick Gonzalez, will share this oral traditional teaching of how cacao has been one of the most sacred plants for the Maya for thousands of years, why it is revered, and how it is used. Its scientific name Theobroma cacao is fitting, as Theo “of Gods” and broma “food” in Greek means “food of the gods.”

Representing the breast of the Goddess of the Tree of Life, the cacao pod has a distinct shape, form, and symbolism that will be explained. This sacrament has an incredible amount of power, and it is a beautiful medicine with the consciousness to help heal us, reconnect us, make us whole, and unify us. Its essence is held in what is created when two circles come together, heart to heart. The feminine energy of IxCacao is very receptive and helps us connect to our heart and the earth.

The desire with this teaching is for each of us to learn and activate our own curiosity, so that we can each create a relationship with the IxCacao as a Goddess and find the gift she gives to us.
