Walking with the Medicines Retreat

Join us for a ceremonial retreat at Deer Mountain Sanctuary with Tat Erick Gonzalez, who will hold space for prayer and ceremony working with the healing plant and fungi allies of Mother Earth through traditional practice.

This ceremony will guide us on a powerful journey of prayer, transformation, and healing, as we strengthen the spirit of gratitude in our lives and deepen our relationship with the sacred plants, fungi, and medicines of Mother Earth. Through this ceremony, we will honor the healing allies of the natural world, invoking their wisdom to support our personal growth, clarity, and renewal.

These four days carry a precise and sacred arc in the Mayan sacred calendar. We arrive on Junlajuj (11) Kan — the feathered serpent, the medicine, the kundalini energy of self-transformation, building toward its culmination. The heart of the ceremony moves through the all-night prayer from Kablajuj (12) Keme into Oxlajuj (13) Kiej — from the transformer, the sacred chrysalis of death and rebirth, into the full empowerment of the shaman and the keeper of ceremonies: the completion of the 13-day cycle at its most potent. We close on Jun (1) Q'anil — the seed, the new cycle beginning, the planting of all that was transformed and received into the ground of what comes next.

Accommodations & Details

This ceremony will be held at Bear Paw Meadow at Deer Mountain Sanctuary, north of Mt. Shasta in Northern California. Camping is required, and all meals will be provided. (Some glamping options available on request).

The suggested contribution for this transformative weekend is $650 – $900 (sliding scale).This reflects the Four Ceremonial Gifts in the lineage. Please give generously as you are able, in support of the medicine people and the path of wellness they hold for us.

If this is your first time participating in a medicine ceremony with Tat Erick, we ask that you schedule a one-on-one spiritual divination Zoom session with him prior to the ceremony.
