Something in You Is Ready to Come Home.
The Remembering Path
The Remembering Path
Deepen your relationship with your essence, with the Earth, with Spirit.
Transform through a practice that holds — one rooted not in productivity but in the ancient rhythms that have always sustained life.
The Remembering Path is a seasonal journey through the four directions of the Medicine Wheel— guided by the Mayan teachings of Tat Erick Gonzalez and a growing circle of guides and companions.
Each season opens a new doorway.
Each direction offers a different medicine.
Summer · Earth · South · Opens July 24th, 2026
Season One — Restore
This year, we begin in the South — the direction of Earth, of the body, of coming home to yourself. The wheel turns from here.
The Remembering Path
The Four Seasons
Restore. Release. Reconnect. Rekindle.
-
Come back to your body. Find your ground.
The direction of grounding, of self-love and nourishment. This is where the path begins — not in the sky but on the ground, in the sacred instrument of your own physical life.
-
Let what needs to move, flow through you.
The direction of emotion, healing, and relational depth. What is ready to be released? The West teaches the wisdom of surrender and the grace of letting go.
-
Listen for what has always been speaking.
The direction of clarity, discernment, and the deeper knowing of who you are at the level of Soul. The season of stillness — and of finding your way back to yourself.
-
The fire lives in you. Learning to tend it is the work.
The direction of dawn, of new beginnings, of the spark that animates all life.
You can join at any seasonal turning. Each season stands alone and is complete in itself. Those who walk the whole year — restoring, releasing, reconnecting, and rekindling — arrive somewhere they didn’t know they were headed.
Season One — Restore
Return to Earth
Summer · Earth · South · Opens July 24th, 2026
Look at the green things climbing in your garden —
persisting, reaching, living only to thrive and bloom into that which they are.
They do not question whether they deserve the sun.
They simply turn toward it.
We are part of this.
Part of Mother Earth and her Web of Life.
The blood moving through our bodies is rich with her elements,
her minerals, her waters — waters that have traveled the length of her body
and are now beating in your heart as your own sacred waters, painted with iron.
Summer is the season of full light.
The time to thrive — to make use of the old compost in our lives,
to cut away what no longer serves, to let this light help us see ourselves clearly.
This season is an invitation to soak that in.
To receive it.
And from that place of fullness —
to ask the question the Earth herself is always asking:
How can I live more fully, and give more life in return?
Stretch toward the light
The elements are ancient, impartial, and universal — available to everyone, in every season of life.
They carry original instructions, unchanged across time and culture.
When so much around us is uncertain, they offer something real to return to.
A medicine to embody.
A relationship that deepens the longer you walk with it.
We are sourced. We have always been sourced.
Season One
What This Season Offers
Six weeks of structured teaching — followed by an independent journey through to September 13th (13 Ix), where the season closes in a live circle — just before the Fall season opens at the equinox on September 22nd.
The elements are ancient, impartial, and universal — available to everyone, in every season of life. They carry original instructions, unchanged across time and culture. When so much around us is uncertain, they offer something real to return to. A medicine to embody. A relationship that deepens the longer you walk with it.
Each week weaves together:

Two live sessions on Zoom — an Open Circle community gathering (Sat August 22nd) and a closing circle (Sun September 13th) — both recorded for those who cannot attend live
HEALING
Integrative health wisdom from Dr. Melissa Coomes, Integrative Functional Medicine Physician — bridging modern science and the wisdom of the Medicine Wheel to support healing across the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual bodies

Daily Practice
The South Anchor Practice
At the heart of this season is a simple daily practice — five to ten minutes — rooted in the medicine of Restore:
Connect to Earth physically.
Ground in the body.
Turn toward Spirit.
Name one truth.
Commit to one grounded action.
You are invited — not required — to share your practice insights in the weekly reflection threads. The practice belongs to you. The community holds you as you build it.

The Teaching Circle
Tat Erick Gonzalez
Mayan Spiritual Guide · Aj Q'ij · Founder, Earth Peoples United
Since his early childhood in Guatemala, Tat Erick Gonzalez has walked a path guided by Spirit and shaped by the living wisdom of indigenous elders across the Americas. Over forty five years, he traveled, trained, and was initiated by elders from Guatemala, México, Colombia, Peru, and throughout North America. Within the traditional circles of the Maya, he carries the responsibility of an Aj Q'ij and Kamal Bey — Spiritual Leader, Teacher, and Earth Wisdom Keeper. He has sat in council with tribal elders from across the Americas, and led ceremony in various parts of Mother Earth. The Mayan Medicine Wheel teachings he carries are the cosmological and ancestral foundation of every season of The Remembering Path.
Nan Heddi Gonzalez-Neale
Aj Q’ij, EPU Founder & President · Lead Facilitator
Nan Heddi Gonzalez-Neale has walked alongside the Mayan teachings of her husband Tat Erick Gonzalez since 1998 — traveling throughout the United States, Guatemala, Canada, and Northern Europe to help organize, facilitate, and interpret for international councils and ceremonial gatherings with Mayan and other indigenous elders, and with non-native peoples from across the world. In 2005, she received her sacred bundle and spiritual mission as an Aj Q’ij in the Mayan tradition. Founder and President of Earth Peoples United, Heddi helps steward the land at Deer Mountain Sanctuary in Northern California, leads women’s ceremonies, and holds The Remembering Path as both a founder and as a fellow traveler on the path of remembrance — bringing to it the full arc of her own formation: the lineage, the land, the ceremony, and decades of walking between worlds.
Alfred Ray Lerma
Qigong Therapist · Meditation Practitioner · Unity & Peace Ambassador
Alfred brings the medicine of each direction into the body through movement practices — grounding the teachings in lived physical experience. His Qigong practice for the South season offers participants a direct felt sense of what it means to restore and find your ground. Alfred is also a co-architect of the EPU Integration Model — the five-stage learning framework (Ground, Reflect, Share, Practice, Anchor) that structures every season of The Remembering Path.
Jackie Eshelman
Land Steward, Deer Mountain Sanctuary · Savory Institute Accredited Field Professional · EOV Master Verifier
With over twenty years of clinical experience bridging traditional Western medicine with holistic healing, Dr. Melissa views the human being as a dynamic, multidimensional system capable of profound healing. She is the originator of the Dimensional Medicine framework — an approach that integrates the wisdom of the Mayan Medicine Wheel with the science of how our psyche, nervous system, hormones, and immune system communicate as one. Her seasonal health teachings help participants discover how reconnecting with the rhythms of nature awakens the body's own capacity to heal.
The Remembering Path is a living program and its circle of guides and companions is growing — both in those who will be woven in over time, and in the gifts each of us discovers as we walk the path together.
Dr. Melissa Coomes
Integrative Functional Medicine Physician · G'omanel Ixoq'
Jackie Eshelman is the land steward of Deer Mountain Sanctuary — the home ground of Earth Peoples United. A Savory Institute Accredited Field Professional and EOV Master Verifier, she trains land stewards and monitors landscapes around the world. Jackie is a genuine plant and soil nerd who listens to the land for a living — and hears what it is saying. Her contribution to The Remembering Path is a reflection from the Earth itself, offered through the eyes of someone who works with her daily.

A Note on This Season
"Walk the sacred seasons. Remember who you are."
The South is the direction of self-love — and Restore is the foundation of everything else. You cannot pour from an empty vessel. You cannot tend the Earth if you have not first learned to tend yourself.
The Earth is ready to receive you.
