Healing the Klamath Watershed Workshop

Saturday June 26th & Sunday June 27th
9:00am to 4:30pm

Lunch Provided
Camping available

$150 sliding scale

Led by professional land steward Andrew Beasley Baird, this workshop will focus on low-tech stream restoration techniques that can be applicable for land owners and managers alike to improve stream habitat, increase groundwater infiltration and aid in sediment capture, in order to improve the riparian conditions and emerging salmonid habitat of our local Klamath Watershed.

During this two day workshop we will be looking at current conditions of Cold Creek, our spring fed creek running through Deer Mountain, through the eyes of a beaver to understand how the system would like to be treated. We will use this feedback to plan and implement a series of structures, including Beaver Dam Analogs (BDAs),  Assisted Log Structures (ALS) and variations of rock based structures.  There will also be time to come together to speak to the importance of water, the watershed and how our actions as individuals can have an impact on our climate and the free-flowing Klamath River. Together is better! Finally, lunch will be provided and camping is available for all.  Expect there to be some festivities after our work day on Saturday!
